During this course, we will focus on:

• Developing confidence and independence in a student’s work, as they apply and further develop their technical knowledge through art making and discussion
• Introducing a student to both traditional and contemporary art making by discovering themes that they are passionate about
• Developing their technical skills as they learn advanced drawing (e.g. 1/2/3 point perspective, circle perspective, proportion, etc.) and painting (e.g. color theory, types of blending through mediums,  wet on wet and layering, etc.) techniques
• Developing their observational skills as they learn how to sense tonal values and color values in the world around them
• Learning how to compose an artwork together through placement of objects, light intensity, point of view, and color choices
• Gaining in depth knowledge by studying a chosen subject or technique to an advanced level
