Kway Lin (b. 1975)

Kyaw Lin was born in the year 1975 in Laputta, Myanmar. He graduated with a BA in Painting from the University of Culture, Yangon in 1998, after which he has studied under famous artists such as U Aung Sint, U Mya Thaung, U Win Pe Myint (WPM) and U Aw. He has participated in both solo and group exhibitions locally, and many of his works have been collected by international galleries. He founded Youth Art Group (YAG) in 2005. Kyaw Lin is famous for his landscapes; however, he spends much time on figure and still life art. He could be considered a minimalist––he composes his art with geometric shapes, bold colors and prominent lines. His art is his interpretation of nature combined with his personal beliefs.
