Tin Mar Lynn (b. 1978)

Tin Mar Lynn was born in the year 1978 in Yangon, Myanmar, and is currently working as a full-time artist.  She studied mathematics and law at University of Yangon, whilst taking art classes from YAG Painting School where she studied under artists Kyaw Lin and Aye Nyein Myint. She has been professionally painting since 2007, and has participated in many international and local group exhibitions, including her first solo show, titled ‘Paradise’ in the year 2014.

Tin Mar Lynn enjoys painting imaginative sceneries, where she combines images of botanical elements with fish to create a surrealistic artwork. Through her artwork, she takes he viewers on a journey to her dreams, to her paradise. She is inspired by fish as they always strive to live freely and happily in a waterland without starvation, and avoid unsafe areas. Thus she transports these depicted fish into their dream paradise.
